What is a Board Room?

The board room is the space that’s used by companies for their most important meetings. The board room can hold up to 48 people (24 at the table, and 24 around the walls). This space reflects K-State Olathe’s determination to meet demands of the business community in executive meeting space, research and training. This room features a more formal décor and basic audiovisual equipment.

The term „board“ is a reminiscence of wealthy men seated in dark wood-paneled rooms with high ceilings, pondering the corporate policy and pricing in hopes of dominating a market or an opportunity. Nowadays, however, the boardroom has become an essential hub of innovation, allowing for greater collaboration and global participation to make crucial decisions that affect the entire organization.

The layout of the room must be flexible, allowing it to adapt to its intended use. The room should also be equipped with the most recent technology to ensure meetings are as productive as possible. Additionally, the atmosphere of the boardroom should be welcoming and comfortable to encourage engagement and promote the exchange of ideas.

A boardroom needs to be equipped with an adequate screen to accommodate all guests. A boardroom must have an ample screen to accommodate everyone in attendance and projection equipment for displaying whiteboards and presentations. Modern boardrooms may also include a video conference system for remote attendees and provide greater diversity between board members.
